A culmination of over 3 year's development, the cam cover has been thoroughly engineered with careful attention paid to both form and function. Made from specially developed glass filled nylon, it incorporates an oil injection system which precisely lubricates both inlet and exhaust cams and their associated valve train. Oil is constantly fed to the cover through a separate filter unit reaching the cam shafts cooled and perfectly clean. This ensures the friction surfaces remain within a safe operating temperature, and helps to reduce valve bounce due to spring hysteresis.
The cam cover has excellent acoustic properties due to an internal honeycomb lattice, and has the advantage of being 30% lighter than aluminium (which helps to lower the car's overall centre of gravity and improve handling). It also incorporates several extra design features, including a spark plug sealing system which prevents the ingress of water, reducing misfires and rough running due to moisture.
The kit is designed to work in conjunction with our micro processor controlled pre-oil system, which charges the engine and camshafts with oil prior to starting. This process creates a hydro-dynamic wedge of lubricant between all moving parts, preventing dry running which can lead to engine damage.
Each cam cover is bespoke, and painted to customer requirements. The spark plug cover is pure resin sealed carbon fibre, with custom graphics.
