Cerbera pre oiler
The Cerbera AJP V8 pre-oiler has been developed in conjunction with the Speed Six cam cover project as a means of prolonging engine life.

During a cold start, particularly after a prolonged period of storage, the engine will dry-run. This continues until the oil pump has rotated a sufficient number of revolutions to prime and begin delivering lubrication at working pressure. This lag is extremely damaging and comes at a critical time when the engine needs lubricating the most. The result is increased friction, and ultimately universal engine wear.
The pre-oiler addresses this problem by delaying engine start until an external high-power electric oil pump has primed the entire lubrication system to full pressure. A highly developed micro-controller takes care of the process by sequencing the pump and starter motor until sensors have detected adequate oil supply. The driver is constantly aware of the system state by means of an indication system which is integrated into the existing oil warning caption.
There are safeguards in place to ensure the pre-oiler doesn't interfere during safety-critical phases (such as a stalled engine at a junction), and there is an integrated self-test diagnostic facility.
The AJP V8 is true thoroughbred engine, and as production of this iconic creation has ceased, the pre-oiler goes some way towards protecting your investment and its future.
